Gurban Ali Pourmajan, Cultural Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nairobi and Mrs. Professor Marie Gikungo, Director General of the National Museum of Kenya, recently met and discussed the bilateral relations between the museums of Kenya and Iran .

Referring to the many fields of cultural cooperation between the two countries, Mrs. Professor Gikongo said : Kenya has 25 museums, some of which are over 100 years old.

She expressed: We need to cooperate with some countries, especially Iran, in the field of training specialist forces, holding training courses, preserving and restoring Kenya's historical websites, specialized research, etc., and in this regard, we can cooperate with Iranian museums .

The Director General of the National Museum of Kenya added: We do not have special documents with Iran regarding museums and we are fully prepared for this because we believe there are good experts colleagues in Iran who can expand our cooperation by signing this document.

She stated: "We welcome visits to the museum and if the Iranian side is ready, we plan to hold a meeting online and discuss the discussed issues."

The director general of the National Museum of Kenya also welcomed the participation in the conference on the Traces/footprints of Iranian civilization in the coast of East Africa, which is to be organized by Iran's Cultural Consultancy with the participation of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Cultural Heritage and the University of Nairobi.
